"To weave the cloth is to weave all. For we are all threads, threads in a borderless tapestry embroidered with pain, joy, loss, and hope."
--Zyakia, Master Tailor of Pandaemonium
To become a tailor, pay Daphnis (in Sanctum) or Zyakia (in Pandaemonium) 3,500 Kinah for the skill. The price varies slightly depending on the current influence ratio. Once you’ve done so, you’ll see a Tailoring experience bar in the Crafting tab of your Skills window, and you start with 1 Expertise Point out of 99 possible. Each time your experience bar fills up, you gain another Expertise Point until you’ve hit your current maximum. More Expertise Points mean better recipes--and eventually more powerful creations.
The Tailoring Master immediately teaches you two recipes: Thin Leather and either Tikel Thread (Asmodian) or Ruko Thread (Elyos). The master also offers you the "Medical Gauze" work order. You obtain additional recipes through questing, looting fallen enemies and from merchants such as Proserpina (Sanctum) and Kaiot (Pandaemonium). As you gain Expertise Points, Daphnis and Zyakia offer more difficult--and more rewarding--work orders.
Whenever you reach the maximum possible Expertise Points, return to Daphnis or Zyakia and pay enough Kinah to raise the ceiling on your Expertise Points, according to the table below. Note that prices may vary somewhat depending on your faction’s current influence ratio. You get one Expertise Point immediately, which moves you up into the next tier.
