Each of the three factions are constantly battling for control of the many fortresses within Reshanta. Each fortress gives the controlling faction a deeper foothold in the Abyss from which to base attacks on their enemies. The closer to the heart of Reshanta, the more valuable the fortress.

When a faction controls a fortress they will have several amenities available to them. These include a Quartermaster, Warehouse Keeper, and Soul Healer. Also, some fortresses may have a Fortress Transporter, which will allow you to travel to other fortresses to help defend them.

Within a fortress is a powerful Artifact that can greatly benefit the faction that controls it.

Fortress Amenities

Fortress Amenities edit

A Soul Healer is available to remove your resurrection debuff as well as any experience debt you may have. However, there Obelisks are not located within a fortress, so in order to resurrect there, a kisk must be used.

A Warehouse Keeper is also available to you so that you may relieve your inventory of items you wish to save for later or retrieve a needed item. Some fortresses will also have a Legion warehouse available.

A Quartermaster sells various general goods, reagents for specific skills, and important recipes for crafting and morphing that can only be purchased from the vendors within fortresses. You can also sell the Quartermaster any unneeded or unwanted items.

A Fortress Teleporter is there to help with travel to other areas. However, these NPCs will only teleport you to areas available teleporter to your faction. This can be advantageous in the event another fortress owned by your faction is under siege.

Fortress Sieges

Fortress Sieges edit

Controlling fortresses within the Abyss allows one’s faction to get deeper into Reshanta and closer to their enemy. This allows battle-lines to be drawn closer to your enemy’s landing, thus giving you a base from which to stage attacks into enemy territories as well as ground to retreat to when necessary.

However, taking control of a fortress can be a difficult task. You must defeat your enemies and in the process destroy the Fortress Gate to gain entrance. Once inside you can take down the Aetheric field to allow access from the skies above. More importantly however, once the gates have been breached, you must find and destroy the Guardian Deity. Once the Guardian Deity has been defeated, ownership of the fortress will be set to your faction.

Aetheric Fields:

The aetheric fields surrounding the fortresses keep them protected from the skies. These can be your best friend when defending the fortress or your worst enemy when attacking. These fields are vital to successfully defend the Fortress. However, if the gates are breached, the Aetheric Field’s generator can be destroyed.

Fortress Gate and Gate Stones:

While you are the fortress’s first line of defense, the gate is the main defense to ward off intrusion. The gate can take massive amounts of punishment before buckling under the weight of an attacking force and the siege weapons they may have to assist them. However, the gate can be repaired from within. This can be done by using the Gate Stone.

Gate Stones are the repair devices to assist with defense of a fortress. In order to use a Gate Stone, you’ll need a Gate Restoration Stone. These are placed within the Gate Stone, activating its repair beam which will restore health to the fortress’s gate.

Guardian Deity General:

The last line of defense for a fortress is the Guardian Deity General within its structure. This creature is the toughest you will find within the walls of a fortress and, when defeated, it will relinquish control of the fortress to the faction that subdued it.

Other Fortress Defenses:

Aerial Defenses:

Name

Description

Sentinel’s Eye

When a member of the opposing faction wanders too close, this sentry turret will fire upon them.

Iron Explosive Mine

Explodes when a member of the opposing Faction gets too close, damage dealt can be extreme.

Guard Towers function much like the Sentinel’s Eye, however it is a ground defense placed around some of the fortresses rather than floating in the skies above. It can attack six targets at once.

Aerial Bunkers allow defenders some protection outside a fortress while still being able to strike at an attacking force.

Fortress Siege Medals

Fortress Siege Medals edit
Silver and Gold Medals are received for successfully attacking or defending fortresses in the Abyss. The type and number of medals you will receive is based on the grade you have received during the fortress siege. This grade is determined by the fortress you are defending or attacking and the number of Abyss Points you have acquired during the siege versus the number of points everyone else who has participated has received.

Note: Medals as well as any other rewards for successfully attacking or defending a fortress during sieges will be sent to your character via in-game mail.
